Oracle DBA Tests

Oracle DBMS (Database Management System) provides a unique and convenient way of managing business processes, systems, and functions. Oracle DBAs (Database Management Administrators) are experts skilled in developing as well as maintaining the database systems. There are three levels DBA certifications available: associate, professional, and master. To learn more, see the description below.

1. Oracle Database 12c Administrator Certified Associate Certification (OCA)
This associate-level credential is earned by passing two exams. First, you need to pass any of these two tests: Oracle Database SQL (1Z0-071) and Oracle Database 12c: SQL Fundamentals (1Z0-061). 1Z0-071 exam consists of 73 multiple-choice questions. You will be given 100 minutes to complete the test. The passing score is 63%, and it costs about $245. 1Z0-061 exam (retiring on 30st November 2018), consists of 75 multiple-choice questions. You will be given 120 minutes to complete the test. The passing mark is 65%, and the exam fee is about $125. Once you have passed any of the two tests above, you are then required to pass Oracle Database 12c Administration 1Z0-062 exam, which has 67 questions. You will have 120 minutes to complete the test. The passing score is 64%, while the exam the fee is $245.

2. Oracle Database 12c Administrator Certified Professional Certification (OCP)
For this credential, OCA certification is a prerequisite. The next step towards OCP is to pass 1Z0-063: Oracle Database 12c: Advanced Administration, which consists of 80 multiple-choice questions. You will have 120 minutes to complete the test, and the passing mark is 60%. The exam fee is about $245.

3. Oracle Database 12c Administrator Certified Master Certification (OCM)
To earn this high-level credential, you must be a holder of OCP certification. You must also have 3-4 years of experience working as a database administrator. Once you met these prerequisites, you must pass Oracle Database 12c Certified Master exam (OCM). This test is performance-based and takes 2 days to complete. The fee is about $1360. The next thing you should do is to fill the Course Submission Form, and then complete and submit another form called Fulfilment Kit Request Form.

Oracle proctored exams are administered via Pearson Vue. Once the results are out, the candidates can access their scores by logging into their CertView accounts. Passing your test earns you a corresponding Oracle certification that doesn’t expire and lasts for the lifetime.
