Passing EX200 exam earns you RHCSA certification.
Prerequisites: To sit for this exam, you are required to take the following courses:
- Red Hat System Administration I (RH124) and II (RH134)
- RHCSA Rapid Track Course (R199).
RH124 course takes 4 days and costs $3400 or 12 Training Units. RH134 course costs $3400 or 12 Training Units. The course duration is 5 days.
RH199 course combines both RH124 and RH134 courses and implies a rapid pace. This course costs $3700 or 13 Training Units. The course duration is 4 days. The training can be classroom-based, online or site-based. The candidates with an equivalent experience working as systems administrators on Red Hat Enterprise Linux platform are also allowed to take the exam.
Exam Details: EX200 exam comprises of up to 20 performance-based questions and lasts for 2,5 hours. The pass mark is 210 out of 300 points. Every candidate receives a different set of questions. Once you submit your answers, you have to wait for up to 3 business days to receive your results. Red Hat avails total scores only. There are no details provided on how a candidate performs in each individual section.
Exam Availability: RHCSA exam is available as an individual test or as a part of Red Hat Learning Subscription (RHLS). The first option allows you to schedule your exam at a convenient time and choose a testing center located near you. RHLS option includes a training and the exam fee. RHLS is a subscription that expires after one year from the purchase date. This means that you must take your tests within the given 12-month period. RHLS bundle also includes two retakes.
Once you met the prerequisites and have passed your exam, you will receive Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator certification (RHCSA) that stays current for three years. To maintain your credential, you are expected to upgrade whenever a new exam version released. You have to sit for the new exam again to re-certify before the three-year window ends. The other recertification option is to pass RHCE EX300 exam and become RHCE certified while still a current RHCSA.
