Oracle SQL Tests

Oracle SQL (Standard Query Language) is a system used for managing databases. It provides an efficient way to access, define, and maintain data. The Oracle database language is available as SQL and PL/SQL (Procedural Language/SQL). The SQL is limited and only suitable for writing and executing single queries or operations commonly known as CRUD (Create, Read, Update, and Delete). PL/SQL, on the other hand, allows you to incorporate loops as well as variables that are more complex and are able to execute blocks of queries. Therefore, the PL/SQL is an extension of SQL. SQL certifications are offered at the associate and professional levels.

Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate Certification provides two options for attaining it. The first option involves passing exam 1Z0-071, Oracle Database SQL. This is a multiple-choice question test that consists of 73 questions. The completion time for this test is 100 minutes, and a passing score is 63%. The cost of the exam is about $250.

The second option includes two steps. The first step requires a candidate to pass either exam 1Z0-071 or exam 1Z0-061, Oracle Database 12c: SQL Fundamentals (retires on 30th November 2019). 1Z0-061 test comprises of 75 multiple-choice questions. The allocated time for this exam is 120 minutes, and a candidate must attain a minimum score of 65%. The exam price is about $125. The next step for the candidate is to pass exam 1Z0-144, Oracle Database 11g: Program with PL/SQL. The test contains 63 multiple-choice questions, and the passing score is 65%. You will be given 90 minutes to complete this test. The exam cost is about $250. The second option leads to the advanced Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate Certification.

The first step in order to get Oracle Database PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional certification is to get any of these certifications:
- Oracle Database 12c Administrator Certified Associate
- Oracle Database 11g Administrator Certified Associate
- Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate

The next step for those who want to obtain professional-level certification is to pass the exam 1Z0-148, Oracle Database: Advanced PL/SQL. It is a test with 75 multiple-choice questions. The allocated completion time is 110 minutes, and you are required to attain a minimum of 62% to qualify. It costs about $250. This is the highest level of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL credentials.

Oracle exam Registration is done at Pearson Vue, and the results can be viewed via Oracle CertView Portal after up to 60 minutes of the exam completion. Oracle sends you an email once your results are ready. You will receive the eCopy of your certification within 3-4 days of passing your test. You can also request for a printed copy which will be sent to your mailing address (usually takes up to 8 weeks to arrive). Oracle certifications do not expire.
